Cold-Worked Glass
These sculptures were created using a wet-saw, various glass grinders and polishing wheels. The work is all done using water as a coolant.,ergo the term COLD-WORKED. In some cases HXTAL epoxy was custom dyed on joints to achieve complex reflections, rendering additional complexities to the design. Some of the pieces were made using optical grade lead crystal which adds to the reflective qualities while other pieces were made from Kokomo Glass billets. I use the Kokomo glass when wanting to use glass with trapped bubbles, this provides a certain earthiness to the piece. The difference in materials used is also reflected in the pricing. I take great pride in my craftsmanship and have completed 95% of my work at home in my studio.
